Removing Users from Spaces and Organization

Overview

You want to know how to remove a specific user from a space in order to relocate them or remove them from the organization completely when the user has left your company.

Removing User from Space

To remove a user from a specific space, you can access Space Management and modify the user's role in the space to None, as described in Modifying Space Settings - Manage Members Access. You can also edit the user's access in their settings:

  1. Access the Sococo5k application.
  2. <supportagent>Navigate to a space in the customer's organization.</supportagent>
  3. Click on your profile icon on the top-right. This icon will have your initials.
  4. Click on Settings.
  5. Navigate to Administration > Member Management.
  6. Search for the user you want to remove and click on the edit option.
  7. In the Space Access section, locate the space you want to remove access from and select None in the Access column.

Removing User from Organization

  1. Access the Sococo5k application.
  2. <supportagent>Navigate to a space in the customer's organization.</supportagent>
  3. Click on your profile icon on the top-right. This icon will have your initials.
  4. Click on Settings.
  5. Navigate to Administration > Member Management.
  6. Search for the user you want to remove and click on the edit option.
  7. Click on Remove From Organization in the Administrator Actions section.

Testing

If the user is successfully removed from the space, they will no longer appear in the Members Access section of the space settings. Additionally, all spaces the user does not have access to will appear in the Space Access section of the user settings with the None access option selected.

If the user is successfully removed from the organization, they no longer appear in the Member Management user list. You can verify it by following these steps:

  1. Go back to Member Management.
  2. Check the user list displayed for the organization. 
  3. Search for the name of the user that was removed.
